Since Grand Seiko appeared, it was the clear mark for watchmaking excellence, being known for its unique way of overcoming barriers and always creating new fantastic calibers.
Seiko's calibers Super, Marvel, Chronos and Crown pushed the company on the top of world watchmakers in the 1950′s. With every year that passed, Seiko proved its high class quality by winning all accuracy competitions from Japan in the 1950s.
However, the company also encountered failure, at the Neuchatel Observatory contest from 1960, being classed only on the 144th place. This event only determined Seiko's team to work harder with themselves and the results were seen by the whole world in 1968, when they achieved the first place in the mechanical watch category of Geneva's observatory contest.

Grand Seiko's watchmaking process has a constant evolution and 9S67 was presented in 2006, having a power reserve of 72 hours, delivered by only one barrel.
Another popular watch was introduced in 2009, the high beat caliber 9S85 model, Hi beat 36000 and it was finished with newly developed mainspring, balance spring, escape wheel and pallet.
The struggle to reach perfection continues for Grand Seiko every day, constantly providing the world the most accurate watches ever created.
